The Memoirs of M.A. Draz & Farewell Reception

The Egyptian American Society (EAS) of Chicago organized an event for the Chicago Premiere screening of the documentary film "The Memoirs of M. A. Draz" on Sunday June 14th at the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures of the University of chicago.  The event, that was attended by a number of luminaries, distinguished community members, and EAS board members, included a panel discussion. The presentation and discussion were led by Dr. Dina Rashed, EAS president, who coordinated the Q&A session with the panelists: Ambassador Nada Draz, Consul General of Egypt in Chicago, and Professor Ossama Abdelgawwad of Valparaiso University. The discussion saw active participation from the audience and mostly centered around the visionary writings of Sheikh Draz who pioneered an enlightened view of religions, especially in his seminal book "The Moral World of the Qur'an" based on his doctoral thesis at the Sorbonne University.
